Reliable Slating & Tiling for Damaged Roofs

A damaged or missing slate or tile can leave the roof exposed to water and further weather damage. Slates and tiles can become cracked, slipped or loose over time, while older roofs may eventually need more extensive work.

If you’ve noticed missing tiles, broken slates, a leak or visible damage to your roof, the affected area can be assessed and the appropriate work carried out.

W Milligan Roofing provides slating and tiling services across Kilmarnock, Ayrshire and Glasgow. From replacing individual slates and tiles to larger repairs, re-slating, re-tiling and new roofs, we’ll assess the roof and provide a clear quote for the work required.

Our slating & tiling services

We carry out slating and tiling work for a range of residential and commercial properties, from individual repairs through to complete roofing projects.
The work required depends on the condition of the existing roof and how much of the covering is affected. Where a localised repair is suitable, only the damaged area needs to be dealt with. For roofs requiring more extensive work, re-slating, re-tiling or a complete new roof can be considered.

Why choose W Milligan Roofing for slating & tiling?

W Millingan Roofing Ltd is dedicated to being a partner for all of your construction needs.

25+ Years of Roofing Experience
We’ve been carrying out roofing work for more than 25 years, including slate and tile repairs, re-slating, re-tiling and new roof installations across Kilmarnock and Ayrshire.
Individual Slate & Tile Repairs
A damaged slate or tile doesn’t necessarily mean the whole roof needs replacing. Where the surrounding roof is in suitable condition, individual pieces can be replaced and the rest left undisturbed.
Re-Slating & Re-Tiling
When a roof needs more extensive work, we can carry out re-slating or re-tiling rather than continuing with individual repairs that are no longer practical.
Domestic & Commercial Roofing
We carry out slating and tiling work on both homes and commercial properties, from smaller repairs through to complete roofing projects.

Slating & Tiling FAQs

Have a question about slate or roof tiles? We’ve answered some of the questions we get asked most often about slating and tiling, from repairs to replacement based on our experience.
1. What is the difference between slating and tiling?

Slates and tiles are different types of roof covering, with different materials, appearances and characteristics. The appropriate option depends on the property, existing roof and the type of roofing work required.

2. Can damaged roof slates and tiles be replaced?

Yes. Broken, cracked or missing slates and tiles can be replaced where the existing roof is suitable for repair. The surrounding area can also be checked for further damage.

3. Can you replace just a few roof tiles?

Yes. Where the damage is limited to a small area, individual tiles can usually be replaced without replacing the whole roof.

4. Can you repair a slate roof?

Yes. Damaged or missing slates can be replaced as part of a slate roof repair. If the roof requires more extensive work, re-slating may be considered.

5. When does a roof need re-slating or re-tiling?

This depends on the overall condition of the roof covering. If damage is widespread or the existing slates or tiles have deteriorated significantly, re-slating or re-tiling may be more suitable than continuing with individual repairs.
